Just the beginning!
WOW! What a whirlwind the last few months have been. I am so excited to be writing my first blog for my website, and even more excited that you are reading this right now. This blog is meant to just be an intro, and give some insight into what I have planned for the blog. While my website is mainly meant to promote my services and show as a portfolio of my work, I want my blog to be somewhere that people can go each week and see what I am working on and hopefully learn something about planning events.
In May of last year I had the pleasure of pulling off this crazy, miracle of a wedding for a close friend. Long story short, we planned the wedding in a month and a half, threw in a gender reveal for their baby girl and that was the start of by Kimmie Lorraine! I have a blog post planned for the details on Tim and Val's wedding but their story is an integral part of my story over these last few months.
THE DAY AFTER their wedding I was offered a job that I could not pass up as an event manager with one of San Diego's premier event venues. This job was a dream come true, but I had really gotten excited about making by Kimmie Lorraine a reality. Well fast forward a few months (I got engaged, three of our friends had babies, and my fiance accepted a new job in Huntington Beach) and we found ourselves moving (back) to the big OC! This was my opportunity to really dive into by Kimmie Lorraine. And as I sit here writing this post I could not be more excited for what the year has in store.
So first order of BUSINESS! This blog will serve a few different purposes.
1. It is for clients to get to know me! Hiring a planner is a very personal experience. In so many ways your event planner is your right hand in having a successful event. I want to my clients to trust me. That is my number one priority.
2. I am planning my own wedding that will be in October! Each Wednesday I am going to have a wedding Wednesday post that addresses different elements of the wedding planning process. Most of these posts will pertain to my very own wedding!
3. I will also post non-wedding related event advice such as dinner or birthday parties!
